CHRISTIAN TESTIMONY
Why
is Poured Wall Contractors closed for business on this
Friday, commonly referred to as "Good Friday"?
Why do we make it one of our companies paid Holidays?
It is not because we are religious, or think people
should attend a "Good Friday" church service.
It is because Easter weekend, celebrates the most significant
event to ever occur in human history--the death, burial
and resurrection of the-Lord Jesus Christ, my savior.
Let me tell you a "Once Upon a Time Story"
that is true and is found in the only book written by
God for man..... the Bible. It began with God creating
a perfect world that He stated was good. He created
as well the first human beings, to live in this world,
to take care of it, and to enjoy it. He gave them one
test of their love and obedience for Him. That test
was to not eat the fruit from a certain tree. They could
do anything else, just don't eat from the forbidden
fruit tree. You guessed it; they ate from the tree.
Rather than destroying these first human inhabitants
of earth, God judged them, and punished them. Though
these first humans were created like everything else
God made, perfect and good, their free choice tainted
them with a defect. The defect was sin, or missing the
mark of being perfect or good.
You and I are are the great, great, great ... grandchildren
of this first human couple. We are like them. We have
the same defect - sin. It is why we can not live a perfect,
good life. We fail God's standards of perfection. You
might be inclined to say: "that doesn't seem fair".
I am just a "victim" of my ancestor's bad
decision. I would have obeyed God. No you wouldn't,
and no you have not.
To make matters worse, all defected humans (which is
all of us) get to spend eternity in a place called the
Lake of Fire. This Lake of Fire was not created for
humans, but for some other rebellious servants of God.
However, God can not have defected humans in His presence,
which is a place known as heaven, so the Lake of Fire
will be their final resting-place.
So, is there any hope? Is there any good news? Are
we all headed for this fiery eternity in the Lake of
Fire? The good news is that God has provided a solution.
He sent Jesus Christ to earth to live a life that was
perfect. Imagine; never making one mistake (sin). Always
thinking, saying, doing the right thing, the perfect
and good thing. At the age of 33 Jesus was nailed to
a cross and died. This was not an ordinary death. This
death provided a way out of the Lake of Fire for you
and me. When Christ was dying God placed that defect
nature of our great, great, great... grandparents as
well as all our defects (sins) on Jesus. He then punished
Jesus with an eternity of the Lake of Fire for every
man woman and child that has ever lived on earth. Jesus
willingly accepted this punishment on behalf of each
defected human being. God judged Jesus at a cross on
a hill called Calvary, so he would not have to judge
you and me. The good news is that since Jesus took our
deserved Lake of Fire punishment, we don't have too.
There is one requirement on your part. To be "born
again" into the family of Jesus Christ and "born
out of" the family of your original ancestors;
you must believe Jesus Christ did die for your sin,
failure, defected person. For this to occur you must
first see yourself as needing what Jesus has to provide.
That means you must realize you are a sinner without
hope, needing a savior. Jesus is that savior.
Believe this, and spend eternity in heaven. Reject
it, and when you are in agony in the Lake of Fire:
-Know that an escape had been made possible for you
by God
-Know that you had been warned
-And know that you had rejected God's only message of
forgiveness and acceptance for you--Jesus Christ crucified.
That is why Poured Wall Contractors takes Friday off.
Friday through Sunday is a celebration of the most significant
historical event mankind could possibly celebrate.
I made the decision to trust Jesus Christ for my sin
debt some 30 years ago. I will be spending eternity
in heaven with God and the Lord Jesus Christ. I hope
I will be spending eternity as well with you. But it
is your choice, not mine. I can only share this condensed
Bible information with you, and then trust you to make
the right decision.
If you have questions related to the crucifixion of
Jesus Christ, and how it relates to you. I will be happy
to tell you what I know.
Sincerely,
Mike Hilgeman
